14:21 - JNes Version 0.6 Released - Jandar Thanks to Mooney for informing us of a new version of JNes. Version 0.6 is released, with the following changes and improvements. The download is also available from our Windows NES emulators page.
- zapper now changes cursor to crosshair in game
- rom browser part of main window, auto selects last rom, recent dir list
- fixed mutex for video dialog
- major cheats rewrite and database update, support for PAR codes
- automatic region setting (uses GoodRom name convention)
- added some simple mappers: 32,71,79,113
- fixed sleep in background issues introduced in last release
- support for ppu monochrome mode
- input now supports Z,Rx,Ry,Rz axis
- turbo buttons are mappable separately
- slot menu now has the timestamp of the state

17:11 - Ultima Save State Editor Released - Jandar John Ratliff has written a utility called Hack4u for the NES game Ultima: Quest of the Avatar. It's a save state editor for any NES emulator (workss on the SRAM files) and lets you edit nearly any property. Tested to run on Windows and Linux, though the source is available and it should run on Mac OS-X, Solaris, and any other unix with the gnome toolkit. Thanks to John for letting us know! 23:57 - Jnes - Latest Version - Jandar I have posted the latest version of Jnes, an NES emulator for Windows, within our NES Emulators Archive. Version 0.5.3 of this emulator can be downloaded directly as well. This version was actually released in June of this year, and was just now posted. Sorry!

20:54 - News Submission Script Added - Jandar Here is another item off of "Jandar's Wish List" for SGC. I never managed to bring the news submission module of our news script to completion, but now here it is at long last. It may not look like much, but it is tied directly into our news system, allowing for staff members to directly review and approve submission from readers (i.e. you!). If you know of any emulation/translation related news that we haven't posted, simply fill out the form, and we'll just right on it! Thanks!
1:18 - RSS Feed Implemented - Jandar What a neat idea! It was not particularly difficult to throw together an RSS feed for the latest SGC news and updates. A link to the feed has been added to the site map, and I am happily receiving the SGC feed from Thunderbird.
  
21:52 - Gameboy Translations Updated - Jandar I have been working on bringing our English translations archives of Gameboy games into sync with the list from The Whirlpool. A thanks goes out to them for providing a great resource! The translation patches that I have added include:
20:17 - More Translation Patches - Jandar I have uploaded several additional translation patches from various groups, playing catch up for all the updates I've missed in the past few years. Included are several complete projects from Stealth Translations:
Stealth Translations also has an ongoing project for the game Shinsenden, which I have added, though no patch is yet available.
I have also added a complete translation project from Video Smash Excellent for the following NES-based Megaman-ish platform game.

3:15 - Links Page Updates - Jandar I have completed a run through the links page, removed all of the dead links, and redirected all of those that I was able. I have not updated comments about sites, except where they were blatently incorrect, and there is still a lot of work to be done in the links category, but this is the first step in a lengthy process of catching up.
2:48 - Z26 Updates - Jandar I have posted the latest versions of z26, an emulator for the Atari 2600 to our emulator archive. Not only was the DOS version updated from what we had posted previously (version 1.58), but also available are versions 2.13 for Windows and Linux (source only). They have been added to our emulators archive accordingly.
0:26 - Torneco no Daibouken Translation - Jandar Magic Destiny released a new patch this summer for their translation of Torneco no Daibouken or "Taloon's Great Adventure." The 0.99 beta release is nearing completion, but, according to the Magic Destiny site:
"keep in mind that there are still plans for a 1.0 final and that what you see may not be exactly what you get in 1.00". The release was made June 1st 2004.
  
17:40 - AGTP: God Medicine Translation - Jandar I have posted the latest patch release from AGTP in our English translations archive. This time for the Gameboy game God Medicine. You can download the patch here. This is what Gideon Zhi has to say:
God Medicine is a kickass RPG by Konami for the Super Gameboy, which is very reminiscient of Final Fantasy Legend 3/SaGa 3, but it's better.
16:57 - Sintendo Update - Jandar I have posted the latest version of Sintendo, the other SNES emulator on the Sega Dreamcast that we currently host files for. The latest release is version 0.10-prerelease 2, was released in August of 2001, and can be downloaded from the emulator archives.
16:47 - DreamSNES Updated - Jandar I have posted the latest version of DreamSNES, an SNES emulator for the Sega Dreamcast which is based on the Snes9x emulator. This update is somewhat outdated, as version 0.9.8 was released in October of 2002, but you can now download it from the emulators archive.
15:24 - Bs9x Release - Jandar A new release of the BeOS port of Snes9x is now available in our emulator archive. You can also download the latest version by clicking here. Thanks to Zophar's Domain for the news.
13:41 - Snes9x Files - Jandar I have uploaded several of the latest Snes9x releases, from July of this year. This includes ports for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. You can find them in their repective sections of the emulator archive, along with the source code.
1:56 - RockNES Uploads - Jandar I have posted the latest releases of the RockNES NES emulator, with maintained versions for Windows (4.00b6) and MacOS (3.13), and some outdated versions for DOS (4.00b1) and Unix/Linux (1.83). Each file has been added to its corresponding emulator page.
